Friday’s GrooveFriday, May 14, 2010.Wow! It is Friday again. The week surely flew by this time around. So, ladies, here is one of my all time favorite songs to just groove to on the Friday afternoon ride home. Enjoy it over and over.
Watch Your LanguageWednesday, May 12, 2010.Have you ever been in a situation, where during conversation with coworkers, you have let - gasp - a curse word slip out? In the world of administrative professionals, you are always expected to be polite and above board. It is sort of expected that the last people to lose their cool and descend to the depths of the English language would be the admin. professional. Well, that is the common perception. But, there are days when you are so frustrated and pushed to the edge, that all you want to do is to let out an expletive that will punctuate exactly what you are feeling at that very moment. But, ladies, wait, wait, before you say it. Because even though you think it may make you feel better, or make a point, it could turn out to be the most embarrassing moment for you. Yes, even if you are around people that you have worked with for years, you will want to hold back on that expletive that is on the tip of your tongue. Better to be safe than to be sorry, and to keep your reputation intact. So, the next time you feel a bit frustrated or the pressure is on, and you just want to let your inner sailor loose, it is probably better to stop what you are doing, head to the ladies room and take a bathroom break and regain your composure. So, tell us, have you had one of these moments, and how did you handle it?
Friday at LastFriday, May 07, 2010.For the “gypsy” in all of us. Here’s to a great weekend. This song rocks!
An Unbelievable EventWednesday, May 05, 2010.I was wowed yesterday when I read that the person responsible for making the failed car bomb, Faisal Shahzad, was captured. Captured, two days after his attempt to cause destruction and mayhem in New York City’s Times Square. But, what fascinated me more was how the authorities where able to track him down and capture him. The story that unfolded over these last few days seemed like a Hollywood movie. Shahzad being caught on camera as he left Times Square. Then the police finding clues via Craigslist, unearthing the owner/seller of the SUV and finally finding out where Shahzad lived. The surreal part of all of these events is knowing that Shahzad had managed to give the agents survielling him the slip, get past airport security, and end up on a plane that was leaving for Dubai. A plane that was stopped just minutes after pulling away from the gate. Stopped, in the nick of time, so that agents could board the plane and arrest Shahzad. Talk about a nail biter. We cheer and say thank you to the local vendor who alerted the NYPD to the strangely parked and smoking car. The American people cheer for all in law enforcement who worked so quickly and efficiently to capture Shahzad. Yesterday, was a good day for the good guys.
